For better health and confidence

Chen Style Tai Chi Chuan

Organized by:

Chen Style Tai Chi Chuan Association of Taipei County

Chen Style Tai Chi Chuan Association of Taipei City

Exquisite and delicate:

Based on “the metaphorical principle of Yin-Yang and extension-contraction, together with the silk-reeling force of spiral and circular movements”, Chen Style Tai Chi Chuan has developed its unique training guidelines and effects and become worldwide renowned.  Since early 16th century, Chen Style Tai Chi Chuan flourished exuberantly and diversely under numerous great masters and talents. Derived and inherited from the Chen Style, there are four other major styles, Yang, Wu, Chen, Sun, and Wu/Hao and dozens of variant styles that have emerged during the past four hundred years.

Toward better health and fitness:

The unique training and practice guidelines of silk-reeling force include waist coiling and spine spinning of torso, wrist revolving and arm twisting of upper limb, ankle swiveling and leg turning of lower limb. These movements create a three-dimensional pivotal curviform of force which generated from either foot; dominated by waist; and protrude at the fingers. Furthermore, while guiding “Qi (energy)” to pass through the body by manipulating “Yi (thoughts and minds)”, "Nei Jin (internal power)" follows accordingly along channels (meridians). The process, consequently, can accelerate circulation, enhance physical condition, and ultimately, improve health.

Achievements of the Association:

Undergoing vigorous promotion and endeavor of Chen Style Tai Chi Chuan Association of Taipei County, Chen Style has become a competition event in martial arts tournaments since 1998. Chairman of the Association, Hong Yun-her, was invited to give lessons abroad on many occasions. He also served as the committee convener to standardize competition forms of Chen Style Tai Chi Chuan in Taiwan, which led to the compilation of 48 movements of Chen Style Tai Chi Chuan in official tournaments.
